Baituallah Mehsud, the Pakistani Taliban commander who was a guest at the Guantanamo Detention Facility before being released because he ‘no longer’ posed a threat, has claimed responsibility for the massacre at Binghampton yesterday.

“I accept responsibility. They were my men. I gave them orders in reaction to U.S. drone attacks,” Baituallah Mehsud told Reuters by telephone from an undisclosed location on Saturday.

FoxNews has the story here.

Background on Baituallah Mehsud here.

Personally I think this is showboating on the part of Mehsud, claiming responsibility for an unrelated criminal act to increase his prestige among other jihadis, but I may be proven wrong.
