Veterans Day New York City and State 2008

This Veterans Day in New York City was unique for having two parades instead of just one. The normal parade formed up in the East 20s and marched up Fifth Avenue, while a second parade started at the newly returned U.S.S. Intrepid and marched across 42nd Street to meet the other at Fifth Avenue.

Our vigilant squirrel brigade captured the Intrepid march on video.

The first video here shows some of the usual suspect lefties being chummy with city police.

Here is video of the flyby and fireworks at the Intrepid.

The second video shows the parade marching east on 42nd Street toward the rendezvous with the traditional parade.

The Urban Infidel wrote a report and took many pictures of the Fifth Avenue Parade here.

And here is a link to the Urban Infidel’s slideshow which has many excellent photos not in the report.

Here is another great photo album by the Fire Family Transport Foundation.
