Iraqi Army, MND-B seize four caches throughout Baghdad

BAGHDAD – IA seized a huge weapons cache in West Rashid and, along with MND – Baghdad Soldiers seized 3 additional weapons and munitions caches throughout Baghdad, June 14.
IA soldiers discovered a huge cache in West Rashid, containing 90 122mm Soviet rockets, 4 81mm Iranian mortars, 2 60mm Iranian mortars, an RPG-22 launcher, 13 improvised claymores, 8 40mm Bulgarian grenades, 3 60mm Yugoslav mortars, 16 rolls of detonation cord, 11 half-pound blocks of TNT, 32 blocks of Iranian C-4 explosive, 5 12.5-inch EFP bodies, 5 complete EFP IEDs, 87 11-inch EFP bodies, a 7-inch EFP body,
74 5-inch EFP bodies, a 4-inch EFP body, 39 3.5-inch EFP bodies, an UAV, 6 electronic timers, 2 passive infrared switches, 500 pounds of ball bearings, 100 toggle switches, 88 Bulgarian fuses, 9 12-volt batteries, 10 camera flashes, 8 digital timers with magnets, 200 CDs, 100 flyers, 2 mortar aiming stakes, 12 digital timers, and an odometer, 14 AK-47 assault rifles, a Siminov sniper rifle, and a heavy machine gun, 15 80mm mortar rounds and 2 105mm mortar rounds. The ordnance was of Soviet origin and in serviceable condition.
The SoI turned in a complete 82mm mortar system in West Rashid to the1st BCT, 4th ID.

Iraqi Army seizes large cache of rockets

BAGHDAD – IA soldiers discovered a large weapons cache in the Rashid district of
Baghdad, June 15, consisting of 90 122 mm rockets with fuses, more than 10 claymores, components to make several hundred EFPs, more than 20 blocks of C-4 explosives, and more than 10 sticks of TNT.

Iraqi SWAT teams capture 3 suspected terrorists

BAGHDAD – June 13, in an op, Mosul SWAT captured 2 suspected terrorists connected to ISI, a front org. for AQI, reportedly responsible for assassinations, kidnappings and other terrorist activities.  Intel reports indicate both suspects worked for an ISI cell leader, who was detained a week ago, carrying out assassinations and kidnappings.
One of the men is said to be known as a ruthless murderer who killed innocent civilians to instill fear within the local population.  He is reported to have recently kidnapped IP recruits and killed them to intimidate the local populace from working with the IP.
Another suspected terrorist was detained during the op.

IPs, MND-B Soldiers seizes cache

Iraqi soldiers capture large explosives cache

TIKRIT – Iraqi soldiers discovered a large explosives caches after an intel-driven raid, June 14, on the western side of Mosul, consisting of almost 70 80 mm mortar rounds, almost 40 other mortar rounds, more than 70 RPGs, almost 10 RPG launchers, a 60 mm mortar tube with stand and various other munitions.

MND-B Soldiers detain suspected criminal

BAGHDAD –  June 13 in Baghdad’s Rashid District, Soldiers with the 1st BCT, 4th ID, detained the suspect at approx. 6:30 a.m. during an intel-driven raid in the Risalah neighborhood.
The patrol returned to a nearby CF base to process the detainee.
The suspect was allegedly responsible for weapons smuggling, rocket and roadside bomb attacks against CF, and murdering innocent Iraqi citizens.

MND-B Soldiers detain suspected criminal leader

BAGHDAD – Soldiers attached to 4th BCT, 10th Mtn Div (Lt), detained a suspected criminal leader in the Karadah security district of eastern Baghdad, June 13.
Soldiers from 66th AR detained the suspected criminal while conducting ops specifically targeting him in Sumer al-Ghadier. The criminal was highly sought after and suspected of leading more than 2,000 Special Group militants.
The GoI wanted this criminal to face justice for committing crimes against the people of Iraq, said Maj. Joey Sullinger, spokesperson for 4th BCT, 10th Mtn. Div. The suspect is believed to be a high-ranking member of an outlaw org. directly responsible for roadside bombs, murders, kidnapping innocent Iraqis and rocket and mortar attacks.

ISF, MND-B Soldiers uncover weapons in Baghdad

BAGHDAD – Iraqi SF and MND – Baghdad Soldiers seized a number of weapons in Baghdad, June 13.
At approx. 11:40 a.m. in the Risalah area of Rashid, Iraqi NP seized 2 RPGs, 2 RPG fuses, an RPG launcher and an unknown machine gun.
IA soldiers took possession of an IED, grenades and C4 explosives in Sadr City.
Soldiers from 4th BCT, 10th Mtn Div, found an EFP, 20 120 mm mortar rounds, 11  82 mm mortar rounds, 5 155mm mortar rounds, 4 82 mm high-explosive rounds, a 130 mm mortar round, an 82mm illumination round and an RPG in the Uldir area of New Baghdad.
Iraqi NPs and Soldiers from 66th AR, attached to 4th BCT, 10th Mtn. Div., seized 93 AK-47s and 4 pistols while conducting a joint patrol, in the al-Ghadier area of New Baghdad.
In the Bayaa area of Rashid, NPs seized 3 IEDs, 23 RPGs and an RPG launcher.
